We’re one week in! What do you think so far?
I have to admit, the shift from the story following Francie in Book One to following her parents in Book Two threw me for a loop.
In Book One, I love how, even though told in third person, the story is told all from Francie’s point-of-view. Her fascination with the library and her resolve to read one book a day in order to read every book there in alphabetical order is compelling considering her family is so uneducated.
The background provided in Book Two about Katie and Johnny and their relationship is an interesting diversion from the path the story had begun to take in Book One. I am anxious to see if Book Three continues on with Katie and Johnny’s story or with Francie’s.
